The 200G QSFP56 SR4 to 2xQSFP56 SR2 Active Optical Cable (AOC) is a high-performance breakout solution designed for next-generation data centers and high-speed networking environments. It efficiently splits a single 200G port into two independent 100G channels, offering flexibility and scalability for modern network architectures. This optical transceiver module integrates advanced VCSEL and photodiode arrays to ensure reliable, low-power, and high-bandwidth connectivity over multimode fiber.
This optical module complies with IEEE 802.3cd, InfiniBand HDR, SFF-8679, and CMIS 4.0 / SFF-8636 specifications. It uses PAM4 modulation technology to achieve high data rates with improved signal integrity and lower power consumption compared to NRZ modulation.
The AOC converts electrical signals into optical signals using VCSEL arrays at the transmitter end. The optical signals are transmitted over multimode fiber and converted back to electrical signals at the receiver end via photodiode arrays. The breakout functionality allows one 200G port to drive two separate 100G links, providing flexible connectivity options.
