The ConnectX-6 leverages cutting-edge technologies including Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA), In-Network Computing, and hardware-based congestion control. It supports InfiniBand and Ethernet protocols, and features NVIDIA’s PeerDirect® and GPUDirect® technologies for accelerated GPU-to-GPU communication.
The NIC card offloads network, storage, and security processing from the host CPU. Using dedicated engines for encapsulation, encryption, and packet pacing, it processes data at line rate with sub-nanosecond accuracy. The adapter uses PCIe lanes to interface with the host and supports both InfiniBand and Ethernet fabrics through OSFP or QSFP56 connectors.
