This Active Optical Cable converts electrical signals into optical signals through integrated VCSEL transmitters. These optical signals travel through multimode fiber and are converted back to electrical signals at the receiving terminus. Built-in signal retiming and adaptive equalization mechanisms ensure a bit error rate (BER) below 10⁻¹⁵, even at maximum distance.
